What are the experts saying?
“A virtual coworking environment can lead to multiple benefits, including heightened productivity, improved focus and concentration, a better work-life balance, and enhanced collaboration and communication. Establishing virtual work sprints, dedicating the first few hours of your workday to recurring tasks, planning and prioritizing tasks, setting clear goals for each work session, and setting boundaries can all help to boost productivity and collaboration in virtual coworking.” - Kumospace
Why it Works
Humans are wired for connection. When we greet someone warmly and receive support and encouragement, our brains produce chemicals such as oxytocin and serotonin. This positive brain state interrupts the stress hormones produced by daily workplace demands and crises. Primed with human connection chemicals, our brains become more relaxed, creative and able to tackle tasks requiring complex thinking.

There’s more! When we accomplish tasks during an FocusCafé session, and our partner celebrates our achievement at the end, we get a hit of dopamine. That internal reaction creates positive reinforcement, setting up a virtuous cycle that allows us to move through our day with energy and a sense of purpose. As a result, we are more likely to get even the most difficult tasks done during future FocusCafé sessions.
